Ensilumi!

Studiomme sijaitsee suomalaisittain "tiiviisti" rakennetulla, uudehkolla omakotitaloalueella lähellä Tamperetta, Suomen toiseksi suurinta kaupunkialuetta. Silti metsä näkyy ikkunasta! Alueen nimikin on "Metsäkylä". Olemme Ylöjärvellä, Tampereen naapurikunnassa. Naryanin treeniskin sijaitsee Ylöjärvellä. Tampereelta katsottuna se on "Takamaa"-nimisen alueen takana. ;) Kun käännytään meidän treenikselle, tien viitassa lukee "Mutala". Tervetuloa maalle! =D

Vielä yksi asia: Nona on painanut koko viikon jakkupuvussa tekemässä vaativaa konsultin työtä. Viikonlopun kunniaksi hän on menossa kuntosalille! Suomessa, kun olet vapaalla, voit pukeutua ninkuin haluat. Äänittäjäkin oli verkkareissa - kauan eläköön kiireetön viikonloppu! =)

Onko teilläpäin jo lunta? Mitä pidät talvesta? Kerro kommenttikentässä!

THE FIRST SNOW!

Me, Lauri and Nona went to record violins and basses to the song called ‘Until We meet Again’ at the Digital Berryhill Studios. It was a fun day as the days in the studio tend to be.

In this photo it’s the first snow- it came down on Friday 27.10 and on Saturday there was still this much left! Photo is from the back garden of the studio and our jack-of-all-trades man took it. Normally it wouldn’t even cross my mind to take photos of the weather we are living and recording in with a mobile phone camera, but since I know about you all readers in Ireland, I thought you might be quite happy seeing this! There are some very special features about Finnishness but one doesn’t tend to think of those if you live here. Autumn in Finland is quite grim so once the snow comes it cheers people up. Even Lauri is smiling… You what?!

On Friday it was even prettier when the snow was in the trees as well. You can see birch trees here, but pretty much whichever window I look out I can see birches, Scots pines and Christmas trees!
Our studio is in a Finnish way very tightly built, newish housing estate near Tampere, which is the second biggest city in Finland. You can still see nature and forest from the window here in Ylojarvi, next to Tampere! Even the area is called (literally translated) ‘village in the forest’. That’s where our bands training place is. Looking from Tampere it is behind the area called ‘Backlands’! ;D
When you turn from the road to head to our training quarters, it says ‘Quagmire’. Welcome to the countryside!

One more thing : Nona has been in a suit working hard as a consultant this week. For celebration of the weekend she's heading to the gym! In Finland you can dress as you please on your day off. Even our sound desk guy in the studio was in his track suit bottoms- long live the relaxed weekend! recorder in the studio was also in his track suit bottoms- long live the relaxed weekend!
